glitteryvHong Eunchae has been one of Music Bank's co-hosts for a year and change now. Eunchae's Star Diary, a web variety show she hosts, premiered in March 2023. The premise is that she sits down with 1-3 idols every week. The roster is made up of idols who have performed at MuBank that week.
The overall tone is on the fluffier side. It's slightly less casual than formal interview shows (with everyone sitting on a picnic blanket or bean bags) which, combined with Eunchae's personality makes for a cheerful viewing experience.
Even though she's interviewed both male solo artists and boy groups, I'm going to put the spotlight on some of her female guests. I find them way more interesting, LOL. Anyhoodles, Eunchae's fellow Le Sserafim's members have appeared 3 times so far.
Starting with ep. 7 featuring the next two youngest members: Huh Yunjin and Kazuha. This was back in May 2023 when they were promoting "Unforgiven" (as well as the album of the same name.) My fave thing abt this episode is seeing Kazuha being a total riot, Yunjin being the worst at lying, and just their general dynamic, really.
2 quick quick warnings:
1. Check the volume if you're watching this with headphones as these three are V. LOUD whenever they're together.
2. There are some moments when everyone starts talking abt how 'appropriate' it is to be eating on camera.
Fast-forward to episode 9 set abt a month later. This time, LSF is promoting the monster b-side "Eve, Psyche & Bluebeard's Wife". Eunchae and the UNNIES sit down to chat. As the two eldest, Sakura and Chaewon's energeies are calmer than Yunjin and Kazuha's. However, this is a far from boring episode. Especially cuz Sakura's deadpan delivery of the funniest lines kept making me XD. This was also the first time I noticed how much of a tsundere Chaewon was?
Gotta throw another warning for everyone talking abt what can be interpreted as idol diets and where LSF falls when it comes to what they eat, etc. It didn't bother me, but I can see how it might upset some folks.
Then, this past February, Yunjin and Sakura appeared in episode 35. This time, LSF is in the middle of promoting "Easy". It's the most relaxed episode yet. In between all the goofing around, all three talk abt their bond as a group, Yunjin's input both professionally and personally, etc. It's a super mellow watch, imo.
Finally, I'm throwing in this quick video abt the time that the rest of LSF supported Eunchae during her 2023 MAMA solo stage. I just get all ಥ_ಥ at seeing how much everyone loves each other. FWIW, I know the thumbnail looks hella clickbait-y, but I promise y'all it's not. If anything, it's the opposite of that.
