A new post, imagine that! \o/!!!
Closing out my look at fab girl groups choreos, I couldn't not mention my girls Le Sserafim. Combining veterans and rookies, this is one of the girl groups that I'm super fascinated by. They can deffo sing, dance, and give a good show. ("Away from the stage"--in quotations cuz this relates to content in which they are filmed--, it's easy to see how close the bond between the members is.)
ANYWAYS
If there's something that Le Sserafim can do is give us a DAZZLING PERFORMANCE pretty much they go to any SRS BIZNESS SHOW*. And last year's slew of End of Year shows was, like, a new opportunity for the group to 'practice' for their eventual official concerts/tour. I didn't mind having to wake up hella early to catch them because they did not disappoint even once!
* I've also see them perform at universities, i.e. in a way scaled down stage, and they did fine too.
Out of all of the shows, I went with the 2022 Melon Music Awards as that one had a good mix of the kind of scale I mentioned in paragraph above.
First up, here's the practice
It's so interesting to see how the HYBE choreography team uses each of the members' skills and strengths to enhance a group performance. Also, kudos to the dancers who kept up with all the goings on! FTR, this is ONLY for the newer sections of the "Fearless" and "Antifragile" choreos.
The performance
TW/CW: Lots of flashing lights and laser beams; the camera shifts angles a lot; most of the background graphics are v. intense; there's snake imagery from 5:50 thru 6:52.
Ten full minutes of *________*
Here's ANOTHER video of the performance.
This time,it's taken from the perspective of someone who went (this channel tends to post videos of most music shows/concerts that occur in Korea). Despite showing all the behind-the-scenes stuff (such as the markers on the floor, how everyone on stage got into position, etc) it was entertaining enough to add it to this post. The thing I liked best was HEARING THE CROWDS. Like, I know that the broadcasters do intentionally lower the volume of the audience in order for everyone watching to hear the artists onstage. BUT, it also has a weird side effect of making it look like a lot of folk are quietly sitting there just watching? IDK if that makes sense. My point is that watching this video did made it v. clear that ppl were PUMPED AND HAPPY to see Le Sserafim do their thing.
A bonus
THIS is what I mean when I say that their shows are so O____O. In this instance, they are still entertained even though there's some random bad camerawork and mic issues (Yunjin's earrings kept hitting her mic. She's the blonde member.)
AND YET, I've rewatched this whole thing so many times, LOL.
