I think that there's a definite lack of meanspiritness in the approach this show has w/r/t to the "idol among fans" idea that makes it a lot more palatable than, say, something like MTV's PUnked, frex. Or way less cringe for me than a hidden camera show if that makes sense? OTOH, there's an inherent power imbalance that can rub some folks the wrong way, so I get what you mean.

Out of the three eps I suggested, I'd say that the Key one is the most obvious w/r/t to that. BUT he makes sure to keep things mellow for the fans when they realize he's been there all along. Key's someone who knows how to work his public/idol persona in a way that puts ppl at ease. IDK, ymmv and your feelings are valid all the same.

If you want more adorability, then I'd suggest watching the Hoshi ep as well. He's irrepressibly cute.
