So last month, RM dropped a surprise 2nd solo album called Right Place Wrong Person (or rpwp for short). It'ss a 34-min MASTERPIECE that's such an 180 from 2022's Indigo. I love the grittier path that RM's taken with rpwp. It's deffo way more experimental and adult (as in having a more mature vibe).
Anyways, as part of the promo rollout, he dropped a few MVs. Each one more cinematic than the next. Although I wouldn't say that the connections between them are super clear, it IS pretty obvious that they're all part of the same body of work.
I'm gonna add a cut here cuz this is a MV-heavy post.
Everything kicked off with "Come Back To Me", i.e. the perfect song to mellow out to. This was the album's title track:
Was it different universes/realities? Was it RM traveling thru time? I mean, whatever explanation you feel comfortable with is super valid.
Bookish Theories' video breakdown is pretty cool too:
RM followed that with a rather trippy MV for "Lost"
NGL, I had to watch this one a few times to figure out what the heck was going on, etc.
Here's Bookish Theories to, once again, shed some light on the storyline and how it connects to the song's lyrics:
IF there's a breakout song, it's deffo "Domodachi" (feat. Little Simz). It's much beloved. I mean, why wouldn't it be?
Let me cede the floor to Bookish Theories:
RM also dropped a more bare-bones type of MV for "Groin". Not only is the melody good, but THEM LYRICS, Y'ALL!!! He calls ppl out, asserts his personhood, and throws the kind of backhanded insults that would make me hide underground for a century or two.
AND he does all that while giving off chav!vibezzzzz too, hahah.
FINALLY, here's a live performance of "Nuts", i.e. what some (including myself) consider a most likely queer song... *points at the lyrics*. PLUS, you get to see RM in all his bleached, fuzzy-headed glory wearing the coziest sweater while being an absolute cutie. <3____<3
GOOD TIMES FOR EVERYONE!!! \o/!
