Date: 2025-03-19 12:45 pm (UTC)I was interested in Batman as soon as they announced it, just because Bros were so appalled about Pattinson being cast, lol. But I never would have gotten around to seeing it (because yeah, who needs another Batman movie??? WHO?) if not for being on tumblr at some point and diving into sad wet cat batman memes, which made the need to see it more urgent. Tragically swayed by memes. Then Netflix was getting rid of it so I had to buck up and watch it (WHY IS IT SO LONG)
Anyway, I wish I could rewatch it so that I could respond intelligently to all this, but Netflix is Netflix so I only have FEELINGS. I looked up my review and it basically just said "i had a lot of thoughts about meta but I barfed them all over Kelly so you are spared" well thanks, past self. Lost to the sands of time, and Netflix..
I enjoyed it a lot, though. I feel the same about the Riddler, don't remember Penguin at all O_O looooooved Catwoman. I remember being creeped the fuck out by Falcone. There are two things I would change about the Batman and one is the musical sting that plays every time he appears as Batman, bc it's DISTRACTING, and the other is that Batman is a millenial ;_; I hate this on a personal level lololol Batman should not be anchored to any particular year to me. He is OUT of time. It's so stupid but it's how I FEEL.
Still, yeah, my favourite Batman movie, easily - bc I don't tend to watch them, even the animated ones. I think I saw a couple of the Nolan ones. Definitely the first one. I remember enjoying some as a child that I've never rewatched (Batman Forever, pretty sure). I should really give those a go at some point.
